History

No history to write here. These are demos recorded over time that I didn’t take as a tekBuddha work.

Demos

Track:
Fake Plastic Trees
Musicians: John Martin
Year: 1997
Notes: Recorded by Will Mott at this home in sunny southern California. The vocals were sung in his bathroom, with the mic rested on a towel hanging over the door. It was a bit tough to get into the mood singing in a bathroom so we light it with candles and incense. I’m still very proud of this recording.

Track: Getting Through To You
Musicians: John Martin
Year: 2008
Notes: I first recorded a demo for this back in 2001. It sat dormant for many, many years until I re-recorded it again in late 2008. The vocals in this demo are the originals and not complete.

Track: Pan’s Lament
Musicians: John Martin
Year: 2008
Notes: The guitar through the “verses” was originally meant as a placeholder for the lyrics I’ve written for this track. I’ve never actually gone to record those vocals though. I’m pretty hooked on that guitar lick though and can’t quite convince myself to ditch it. It’s part Collective Soul, part Neil Diamond. (I didn’t realize I was playing a melody for Sweet Caroline until after I saw Mr. Diamond in concert!)
